The Department has signed MOU with Trichy district tiny & small-scale industries (Tiditssia) and MOU with DST-NIMAT whereby a scope is made for the students to gain practical knowledge in business processes. The Department of Business Administration celebrated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between National College and Virudhunagar Hindu Nadars' Senthikumara Nadar College on September 17, 2022. The MoU aims to facilitate collaboration in areas such as seminars, workshops, faculty exchange, joint research projects, internships, and student projects, promoting mutual growth and development.

Dr.M.Chandra

• She began her academic career as an Assistant Professor at National College in June 2012 and continues to serve in the same institution, currently holding the position of Head of the Department of Business Administration.
• She has completed several minor research projects, including a study titled “Analysis of Non-Performing Loan Determinants in Commercial Banks”, funded by the Indian Academic Researchers Association, with a total project cost of Rs. 50,000, completed in 2024.
• Dr. M. Chandra completed an institutional research project titled “Analysis of Women’s Economic Empowerment in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli District through a Self-Help Group” during the academic year 2022–2023, with a total project cost of Rs. 20,000.
• Dr. M. Chandra has been granted patents for her innovative work, including “Implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Techniques for Data Analysis in Digital Marketing using Ethical and Legal Dimensions” (Application No. 202341016832 A) and “The Importance of Modern Management Technology to Improve Business Efficiency” (Application No. 202341019771 A), both filed in 2023.
• She has made significant research contributions by publishing multiple research papers in recognized journals, with a focus on organizational culture, employee empowerment, and green marketing.
• Dr. M. Chandra has actively served as a resource person and organizer for numerous workshops, conferences, and faculty development programmes, primarily in the areas of digital marketing and research methodology.
• Dr. M. Chandra is a life member of the Indian Accounting Association (TIRU-21) and the Indian Academic Researchers Association (Membership No. 91/2019).

• Granted with an ICSSR Project of Rs 60,000 for organizing National Seminar on The Impact of Bio-Entrepreneurship for the sustainable bio-economy transformation through Microfinance
• TANSCHE Sponsored Rs 10,000 for conducting One Day National Seminar on Poverty Education and Economic Impact on Tamilnadu’s Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme.

Dr. R. Natarajan

• He has more than 10 years of teaching experience in the fields of Commerce, Management, CA, CWA, and ACS.
• He is a certified Zonal Trainer for JCI (Junior Chamber International).
• He is a life member of the Indian Accounting Association, Indian Commerce Association, and Indian Academic Researchers Association.
• He has received the Best Research Scholar Award from the Indian Academic Researchers Association and the Best JCI Award from Zone JCI India.
• He coordinates the ED Cell and ACS Course at the campus.
• He has trained more than 600 candidates for UGC NET and SET Paper I, and more than 250 candidates for various professional courses.

The Department conducted the following academic events using online platforms.

• The Department conducted a National Level Webinar on 30.05.2020 at 11:00 a.m. on the theme “Covid-19’s Impact on Indian Business”. Dr. T. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor, Ramaiah Institute of Management, Bangalore, was the resource person.
• The Department’s inaugural association meeting was held on 30th September 2020. Dr. L. Kalai Bharathi, M.B.A., M.Phil., SET., Ph.D., Principal, Swami Vivekananda Arts and Science College, Vallam, Thanjavur – 613403, was the Chief Guest and delivered a talk on “Emotional Intelligence – A Path for Success”. Students Dev U Shah (III BBA) and Salai Nimala Mani (II BBA) contributed to the success of the meeting with the support of staff coordinators.
• Association Inauguration Meeting for Shift-II batch students was held on 12.10.2020. Dr. Amalanathan, Head, School of Business and Management, Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, Karnataka, was the Chief Guest and spoke on the significance of extracurricular and co-curricular activities in student life. Students Dev U Shah, Salai Nimala Mani, Kingsley, Gunasekar Balakumar and Arivinth coordinated the programme under the guidance of Dr. P. Subramanian.
• The Department and the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) jointly organized a sponsored workshop on Financial Awareness and Consumer Training (FACT) in webinar mode on 28th October 2020. Dr. K. Prabhakaran, NCFE – SEBI Financial Education, was the Chief Guest of the programme.
• The Department organized an Association Inaugural Meeting on 15.09.2021 at 3.00 p.m. Dr. B. Sudha, Professor, Department of Banking Management, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, acted as the resource person and delivered a motivational address to the students.
• The Department of English, in association with the Department of Business Administration, organized a Language Skills Enhancement Programme on 12.10.2021 at 12.30 p.m. Prof. P. C. Jabneel Praveen and Prof. Bavatharani addressed the students on interview preparation and development of linguistic skills.
• The Department of Business Administration inaugurated Henry Fayol’s Club of Management on 25.10.2021 at 12.01 p.m. Dr. K. Kumar, Dean of Commerce, and Dr. R. Elavarasu, Dean of Arts, National College, were the Chief Guests. As part of the inauguration, a Business Quiz was organized by Dr. P. Monisha Devi.
• A Webinar on Capital Market was conducted on 23.10.2021. Mr. V. Prabhakar, BSE Trainer and Director, ACMA, discussed capital market instruments and their role in investment.
• A Webinar on Capital Market Awareness was conducted on 26.02.2022 in collaboration with the Bombay Stock Exchange. Mr. C. K. Arivazhagan, BSE Chennai Trainer, handled the session on capital market awareness and wealth creation.
• A Workshop on Financial Education was conducted on 26.03.2022. Dr. K. Devaraju, Jamal Mohammed College, educated participants on the fundamentals of stock market investment.
• A TANSCHE-sponsored National Seminar on Poverty Eradication was conducted on 20.04.2022. The seminar discussed the economic impact of Tamil Nadu’s Illam Theadi Kalvi Scheme with 310 participants and 43 research papers presented.
• The Department conducted a ten-day TANCET Entrance Examination Coaching Programme from 21st April 2022 to 8th May 2022, covering syllabus-based sessions, previous year questions, and mock tests.
• Henry Fayol’s Club of Management activities were conducted on 13.05.2022, including a Business Quiz and Paper Presentations. Certificates were distributed to participants by the Principal, Dr. R. Sundraraman.
• The Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Departments of Botany and Chemistry, organized a one-day State Level Workshop on Entrepreneurial Development on 25.08.2022. Mr. Prabhu Jeyakumar Moses, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Trichy, addressed the gathering and explained government schemes for promoting entrepreneurship.
• The Department of Business Administration, along with the Departments of Biotechnology and Microbiology, organized a two-day ICSSR sponsored National Level Seminar on 5th and 6th January 2022 focusing on the impact of bio-entrepreneurship for sustainable bio-economy transformation through microfinance.
• A one-day National Seminar on Career Opportunities in the Insurance Industry was conducted on 3rd February 2022 in association with the Thanjavur Insurance Institute and Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.
• An International Conference on Recent Trends and Innovations in Science, Engineering and Social Sciences was organized on 10th and 11th February 2022, convened by Dr. M. Chandra.
• Dr. M. Chandra organized a Faculty Development Programme, during which Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with various colleges and institutions in 2024.
• Dr. M. Chandra and Dr. V. Sumathi conducted a one-day workshop on Computerized Accounting System – Tally with GST on 10.01.2024.
• Mr. M. D. Faizal and Dr. V. Sumathi conducted a one-day intercollegiate meet titled “EUPHORIA 2K24” on 16.03.2024.
• Mrs. K. Sonia Nancy, Association Vice President, organized the Association Inauguration on 12.07.2023 at 4.15 p.m. at Meeting Hall 1. Dr. S. Kanchi Devi, Head and Assistant Professor, SRM Trichy Arts and Science College, Trichy, was the Chief Guest.
• Dr. G. Rajesh organized the Association Inauguration on 14.07.2023 at 11.30 a.m. at Library AV Hall. Dr. A. Selvarani, Associate Professor, Jamal Institute of Management, Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy, was the Chief Guest.
• Ms. K. Sonia Nancy organized the Association Valediction on 22.03.2024 at 11.30 a.m. at Seminar Hall (A/C). Dr. A. Muthulakshmi, Assistant Professor in Commerce (PA), Rajapalayam Rajus’ College, Rajapalayam, was the Chief Guest.
• Ms. K. Sonia Nancy organized a Special Lecture on Interview Mastery: HRM Strategies for Career Triumph on 09.01.2024 at 4.00 p.m. Mr. Karthikbalan, Manager and Unit Head, Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy, was the Chief Guest.
• Dr. B. Revathi organized a Knowledge Enrichment Programme titled Winning Skills to Succeed on 13.02.2024 at 11.45 a.m. Dr. K. Sumithra, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Bishop Heber College, Trichy, was the Chief Guest.
• Mr. M. D. Faizal organized a Special Guest Lecture on Awareness and Investment Strategy on 16.12.2023 at 4.00 p.m. Mr. G. Murali, Branch Manager, Zebu Wealth Management, Trichy, was the guest speaker.
• Mr. M. D. Faizal organized a Special Guest Lecture on Cracking Entrance Exams for MBA, TANCET, CLAT and MAT on 22.12.2023 at 4.00 p.m. Mrs. Bhuvameshwari, Aptitude Trainer, Trichy Plus, was the guest speaker.
• Mr. M. D. Faizal and Mrs. R. Rajalakshmi organized a Special Guest Lecture titled Pave the Way to Success on 20.01.2024 at 11.00 a.m. at Meeting Hall 1. Mr. A. Akbar Ali, Revenue Divisional Officer and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Pattukkottai, Thanjavur District, was the guest speaker.
