When is the last date for applying for MSc Biotechnology / PGDBPT programme?
Enrolments are open for M.Sc., Biotechnology through out the year. Applications are invited from May to June/July of every year and processed for admission during this period. National College follows a semester pattern for teaching and examinations. However, admissions are only on the annual basis ie., the National College admits students only in the odd semester which falls in June/July and not in the even semesters. However, the enrolments are open throughout the year, and candidates can book seats well in advance thereby avoiding last minute disappointment.
Should i submit all certificates in original?
Yes, candidates who seek admission in M.Sc., Biotechnology Programme should submit the following certificates in original, Marksheet of Secondary education (10th / 12th Std), proof of Date of Birth, Mark sheet and Degree Certificate of UG programme, Transfer Certificate of University of College last studied, Migration Certificate (if candidate is from University other than Bharathidasan University, Trichy).
Is there campus interview / 100% placement?
Yes, there is campus inteview and every batch of students have recorded 100% placement (including research positions). Campus interview is through our Industry partners. One of them, Consortium Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, recruit candidates for Clinical Research Co-ordinator position for various sites across India. Besides, there is regular off-campus selection processes that keep going through out the year. For this a separate cell called placement cell functions round the clock.
Does the syllabi support to pursue research by passing JRF exams? ‘
Yes, the syllabus for M.Sc., Biotechnology is entirely based on the UGC-CSIR JRF syllabus to give a winning edge to candidates who appear for JRF exams. Certain core concepts of basic sciences will be handled through ‘Bridge Courses’ for the candidates who aspire for qualifying JRF exams.
Does the syllabi support industrial entry for career opportunities?

Is there any concurrent career-oriented programme for a M.Sc., Biotechnology student?
Yes, there is a concurrent careeer-oriented programme for the students of M.Sc., Biotechnology programme. It is a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Trial Management and Regulatory Affairs (PGDCTM) offered jointly by National College and Consortium Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. It is a weekend programme which is conducted regularly on all Saturdays / Sundays and taught by the Clinical Trial Project Officers appointed at various Hostpital sites where the Clinical Trial Programme run for our partner industry.
What is the advantage of concurrent career-oriented programme?
A student of M.Sc. Biotechnology programme gets the rare opportunity to work in Clinical Trial Industry which is growing every year at a rate faster than IT industry. Students need not spend time or money after completing M.Sc. for want of job, as they complete this programme even before they obtain M.Sc. Degree. Moreover, our Industry partner, Consortium Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, themselves recruit the candidates and put them into a real-time project under their careful and able guidance. Is there any scholarship?
Whatever scholarships are announced by the Govt. of India and Tamil Nadu, all those are applicable for the students of M.Sc., Biotechnology as well. There are no separate scholarships from the management of National College.

Yes, National College shall provide all necessary documents for the students / bank for the purpose of obtaining loan towards studies.
Is lateral entry into courses permitted?
Yes, lateral entry or transfer of candidate to National College from another insitute is permitted through a simple procedure. Students who has completed B.Tech. is also permitted to get admitted into II year of M.Sc., Biotechnology programme.
